So you’ve bought our signage or made your own. You’re not out of the woods yet.

 

Signs won’t matter unless a visitor actually sees them, so follow these simple guidelines:

  • Place signs in locations where customers actually look. To find out where customers look, take a few minutes to watch how visitors walk through your store and interact with your merchandise or staff.
  • If you sell things, visitors will look at your actual merchandise. If you run a restaurant, this could be your wait staff, the menu, or food behind the counter. The best locations are usually at eye level.
  • Give harried shoppers the convenience of doing it later. In a restaurant this could be a check insert or in a bakery it could be a sticker on a box.
